Odličan početak kvalifikacijskog turnira za olimpijske igre koji se igra u Hannoveru, Hrvatska je krenula pobjednički i sa šest zgoditaka razlike slavila protiv Austrije.  Novi izbornik Dagur Sigurdsson krenuo je u svoj mandat pobjedom, iako nije bila baš lagano kako a kraju rezultat 35:29 sugerira. No prvi veliki korak prema Parizu je napravljen.

Naši su rukometaši u susret ušli jako loše, Austrija je povela 5:1, nadovezao se čitav niz pogrešaka u napadu, nervoza je bila ogromna.  Na životu nas je u tim trenucima držao vratar Mandić koji je povezavši tri obrane preokrenuo ritam utakmice. No u 15. minuti Gojun je dobio crveni karton i kao da je to bila situacija koja je dodatno mobilizirala naše reprezentativce, oslobodili su se grča i počeli igrati. U 19. minuti naši su uspjeli poravnati rezultat na 9:9 i od tada se do kraja prvog poluvremena igralo „gol za gol“, pa se s rezultatom 16:16 otišlo na odmor.

Nastavak je donio potpuno drugačiju sliku, iako je Austrija zabila prvi gol, Hrvatska je uzvratila s četiri pogotka, povela sa 20-17 i preuzela kontrolu rezultata, Martinović je krenuo furiozno, zabio tri gola zaredom, Mandić pet povezao tri obrane.

Sredinom drugog dijela Hrvatska je prvi put stigla i do četiri gola razlike (25-21), a onda je Sigurdsson pokazao i kako ima sjajan "nos", promijenio je vratara iako je i Mandić do tog trenutka bio odličan, a novi vratar Kuzmanović "skinuo" je tri "zicera" Austrijancima pa je prednost Hrvatske i dalje rasla. Briljirao je u napadu Martinović koji je sedam od svojih ukupno devet golova postigao upravo u drugom poluvremenu. Proigrala je tada Hrvatska onako kako zna, nije bilo šanse za ponavljanje pogreški sa europskog prvenstva kada se ispustila prednost od tri pogotka, napad je funkcionirao bez pogreške, Kuzmanović donio sigurnost i obrani. Na kraju je Srna dodao šest, Šoštarić pet golova, a Cindrić četiri gola, upisana je velika pobjeda

U prvoj utakmici Njemačka je očekivano svladala Alžir sa 41-29 (16-13). Hrvatska će u subotu igrati protiv Njemačke (14.30 sati), a u nedjelju protiv Alžira (16.45 sati).

Odličan početak kvalifikacijskog turnira za olimpijske igre koji se igra u Hannoveru, Hrvatska je krenula pobjednički i sa šest zgoditaka razlike slavila protiv Austrije.  Novi izbornik Dagur Sigurdsson krenuo je u svoj mandat pobjedom, iako nije bila baš lagano kako a kraju rezultat 35:29 sugerira. No prvi veliki korak prema Parizu je napravljen.

Naši su rukometaši u susret ušli jako loše, Austrija je povela 5:1, nadovezao se čitav niz pogrešaka u napadu, nervoza je bila ogromna.  Na životu nas je u tim trenucima držao vratar Mandić koji je povezavši tri obrane preokrenuo ritam utakmice. No u 15. minuti Gojun je dobio crveni karton i kao da je to bila situacija koja je dodatno mobilizirala naše reprezentativce, oslobodili su se grča i počeli igrati. U 19. minuti naši su uspjeli poravnati rezultat na 9:9 i od tada se do kraja prvog poluvremena igralo „gol za gol“, pa se s rezultatom 16:16 otišlo na odmor.

Nastavak je donio potpuno drugačiju sliku, iako je Austrija zabila prvi gol, Hrvatska je uzvratila s četiri pogotka, povela sa 20-17 i preuzela kontrolu rezultata, Martinović je krenuo furiozno, zabio tri gola zaredom, Mandić pet povezao tri obrane.

Sredinom drugog dijela Hrvatska je prvi put stigla i do četiri gola razlike (25-21), a onda je Sigurdsson pokazao i kako ima sjajan "nos", promijenio je vratara iako je i Mandić do tog trenutka bio odličan, a novi vratar Kuzmanović "skinuo" je tri "zicera" Austrijancima pa je prednost Hrvatske i dalje rasla. Briljirao je u napadu Martinović koji je sedam od svojih ukupno devet golova postigao upravo u drugom poluvremenu. Proigrala je tada Hrvatska onako kako zna, nije bilo šanse za ponavljanje pogreški sa europskog prvenstva kada se ispustila prednost od tri pogotka, napad je funkcionirao bez pogreške, Kuzmanović donio sigurnost i obrani. Na kraju je Srna dodao šest, Šoštarić pet golova, a Cindrić četiri gola, upisana je velika pobjeda

Otvorena vrata prema Parizu: odličnom igrom u drugom poluvremenu hrvatski rukometaši slomili otpor Austrije

Odličan početak kvalifikacijskog turnira za olimpijske igre koji se igra u Hannoveru, Hrvatska je krenula pobjednički i sa šest zgoditaka razlike slavila protiv Austrije.  Novi izbornik Dagur Sigurdsson krenuo je u svoj mandat pobjedom, iako nije bila baš lagano kako a kraju rezultat 35:29 sugerira. No prvi veliki korak prema Parizu je napravljen.

Naši su rukometaši u susret ušli jako loše, Austrija je povela 5:1, nadovezao se čitav niz pogrešaka u napadu, nervoza je bila ogromna.  Na životu nas je u tim trenucima držao vratar Mandić koji je povezavši tri obrane preokrenuo ritam utakmice. No u 15. minuti Gojun je dobio crveni karton i kao da je to bila situacija koja je dodatno mobilizirala naše reprezentativce, oslobodili su se grča i počeli igrati. U 19. minuti naši su uspjeli poravnati rezultat na 9:9 i od tada se do kraja prvog poluvremena igralo „gol za gol“, pa se s rezultatom 16:16 otišlo na odmor.

Nastavak je donio potpuno drugačiju sliku, iako je Austrija zabila prvi gol, Hrvatska je uzvratila s četiri pogotka, povela sa 20-17 i preuzela kontrolu rezultata, Martinović je krenuo furiozno, zabio tri gola zaredom, Mandić pet povezao tri obrane.

Sredinom drugog dijela Hrvatska je prvi put stigla i do četiri gola razlike (25-21), a onda je Sigurdsson pokazao i kako ima sjajan "nos", promijenio je vratara iako je i Mandić do tog trenutka bio odličan, a novi vratar Kuzmanović "skinuo" je tri "zicera" Austrijancima pa je prednost Hrvatske i dalje rasla. Briljirao je u napadu Martinović koji je sedam od svojih ukupno devet golova postigao upravo u drugom poluvremenu. Proigrala je tada Hrvatska onako kako zna, nije bilo šanse za ponavljanje pogreški sa europskog prvenstva kada se ispustila prednost od tri pogotka, napad je funkcionirao bez pogreške, Kuzmanović donio sigurnost i obrani. Na kraju je Srna dodao šest, Šoštarić pet golova, a Cindrić četiri gola, upisana je velika pobjeda
