Svijet je upravo doživio najtopliji travanj ikada izmjeren, čime se produljio 11-mjesečni niz kada je svaki mjesec oboren temperaturni rekord, izvijestila je u srijedu služba EU-a za praćenje klimatskih promjena.

Svaki mjesec od lipnja 2023. bio je najtopliji na planetu ikada izmjeren i zabilježen, piše u mjesečnom pregledu Službe za klimatske promjene Kopernik (C3S).

Uključujući travanj, prosječna globalna temperatura bila je najviša u 12-mjesečnom razdoblju ikada, 1,61 Celzijev stupanj više od prosječne temperature u predindustrijskom razdoblju od 1850. do 1900.

Neki od ekstrema, uključujući rekordne temperature površine mora nekoliko mjeseci u nizu, naveli su znanstvenike da istraže je li ljudska aktivnost izazvala prekretnicu u klimatskom sustavu, odnosno svjedočimo li velikoj promjeni klimatskog sustava.

Emisija stakleničkih plinova od izgaranja fosilnih goriva glavni je uzročnik klimatskih promjena. Posljednjih mjeseci prirodni fenomen el niño, koji zagrijava površinske vode u istočnom Tihom oceanu, također je povisio temperature.

U travnju su zabilježeni neki vremenski ekstremi, uključujući toplinski val u Sahelu koji je mogući uzrok više tisuća smrtnih slučajeva.

Klimatolog Hayley Fowler sa sveučilišta u Newcastleu rekao je da podaci pokazuju da je svijet opasno blizu kršenja cilja Pariškog sporazuma iz 2015. da zaustavi globalno zatopljenje do 1,5 Celzijevih stupnjeva iznad predindustrijskog doba.

Njegovo je mišljenje da je svijet već izgubio tu bitku te da sada mora što brže raditi na smanjivanju emisije štetnih plinova kako bi porast globalne temperature zadržao ispod 2 stupnja Celzija u odnosu na predindustrijsko razdoblje.

Svijet je doslovno suočen s posljedicama klimatskih promjena. Dosad nezamislivo, u Africi poplave, Južna Amerika zametena snijegom, a u Europi najviše temperature od kada se mjere.

Znanstvenici upozoravaju da je krajnje vrijeme da promijenimo način života, inače će temperature nastaviti rasti neviđenom brzinom što će uzrokovati potpunu promjenu klimatskog sustava našeg planeta.

Statistika je neumoljiva, temperature nezaustavljivo rastu, a zacrtani cilj Pariškog sporazuma da se spriječi globalno zagrijavanje od jedan i pol Celzijev stupanj u odnosu na predindustrijsko doba, sve više sliči nemogućoj misiji.

- Upravo smo doživjeli najtopliji travanj otkad postoje mjerenja, čime se produljuje niz od 11 mjeseci u kojem je svaki mjesec oboren temperaturni rekord. Uključujući travanj, prosječna globalna temperatura bila je najviša otkada se bilježi, kazao je znanstvenik Julien Nicolas.

Neki od ekstrema, uključujući rekordne temperature površine mora, navele su znanstvenike da istraže je li ljudska aktivnost izazvala prekretnicu u klimatskom sustavu, odnosno jesmo li izazvali promjene koje je teško zaustaviti.

Svijet je upravo doživio najtopliji travanj ikada izmjeren, čime se produljio 11-mjesečni niz kada je svaki mjesec oboren temperaturni rekord, izvijestila je u srijedu služba EU-a za praćenje klimatskih promjena.

Svaki mjesec od lipnja 2023. bio je najtopliji na planetu ikada izmjeren i zabilježen, piše u mjesečnom pregledu Službe za klimatske promjene Kopernik (C3S).

Uključujući travanj, prosječna globalna temperatura bila je najviša u 12-mjesečnom razdoblju ikada, 1,61 Celzijev stupanj više od prosječne temperature u predindustrijskom razdoblju od 1850. do 1900.

Neki od ekstrema, uključujući rekordne temperature površine mora nekoliko mjeseci u nizu, naveli su znanstvenike da istraže je li ljudska aktivnost izazvala prekretnicu u klimatskom sustavu, odnosno svjedočimo li velikoj promjeni klimatskog sustava.

Emisija stakleničkih plinova od izgaranja fosilnih goriva glavni je uzročnik klimatskih promjena. Posljednjih mjeseci prirodni fenomen el niño, koji zagrijava površinske vode u istočnom Tihom oceanu, također je povisio temperature.

U travnju su zabilježeni neki vremenski ekstremi, uključujući toplinski val u Sahelu koji je mogući uzrok više tisuća smrtnih slučajeva.

Klimatolog Hayley Fowler sa sveučilišta u Newcastleu rekao je da podaci pokazuju da je svijet opasno blizu kršenja cilja Pariškog sporazuma iz 2015. da zaustavi globalno zatopljenje do 1,5 Celzijevih stupnjeva iznad predindustrijskog doba.

Njegovo je mišljenje da je svijet već izgubio tu bitku te da sada mora što brže raditi na smanjivanju emisije štetnih plinova kako bi porast globalne temperature zadržao ispod 2 stupnja Celzija u odnosu na predindustrijsko razdoblje.

Svijet je doslovno suočen s posljedicama klimatskih promjena. Dosad nezamislivo, u Africi poplave, Južna Amerika zametena snijegom, a u Europi najviše temperature od kada se mjere.

Znanstvenici upozoravaju da je krajnje vrijeme da promijenimo način života, inače će temperature nastaviti rasti neviđenom brzinom što će uzrokovati potpunu promjenu klimatskog sustava našeg planeta.

- Upravo smo doživjeli najtopliji travanj otkad postoje mjerenja, čime se produljuje niz od 11 mjeseci u kojem je svaki mjesec oboren temperaturni rekord. Uključujući travanj, prosječna globalna temperatura bila je najviša otkada se bilježi, kazao je znanstvenik Julien Nicolas.

Svijet je upravo doživio najtopliji travanj ikada izmjeren, čime se produljio 11-mjesečni niz kada je svaki mjesec oboren temperaturni rekord, izvijestila je u srijedu služba EU-a za praćenje klimatskih promjena.

Svaki mjesec od lipnja 2023. bio je najtopliji na planetu ikada izmjeren i zabilježen, piše u mjesečnom pregledu Službe za klimatske promjene Kopernik (C3S).

Uključujući travanj, prosječna globalna temperatura bila je najviša u 12-mjesečnom razdoblju ikada, 1,61 Celzijev stupanj više od prosječne temperature u predindustrijskom razdoblju od 1850. do 1900.

Neki od ekstrema, uključujući rekordne temperature površine mora nekoliko mjeseci u nizu, naveli su znanstvenike da istraže je li ljudska aktivnost izazvala prekretnicu u klimatskom sustavu, odnosno svjedočimo li velikoj promjeni klimatskog sustava.

Emisija stakleničkih plinova od izgaranja fosilnih goriva glavni je uzročnik klimatskih promjena. Posljednjih mjeseci prirodni fenomen el niño, koji zagrijava površinske vode u istočnom Tihom oceanu, također je povisio temperature.

U travnju su zabilježeni neki vremenski ekstremi, uključujući toplinski val u Sahelu koji je mogući uzrok više tisuća smrtnih slučajeva.

Klimatolog Hayley Fowler sa sveučilišta u Newcastleu rekao je da podaci pokazuju da je svijet opasno blizu kršenja cilja Pariškog sporazuma iz 2015. da zaustavi globalno zatopljenje do 1,5 Celzijevih stupnjeva iznad predindustrijskog doba.

Njegovo je mišljenje da je svijet već izgubio tu bitku te da sada mora što brže raditi na smanjivanju emisije štetnih plinova kako bi porast globalne temperature zadržao ispod 2 stupnja Celzija u odnosu na predindustrijsko razdoblje.

Svijet je doslovno suočen s posljedicama klimatskih promjena. Dosad nezamislivo, u Africi poplave, Južna Amerika zametena snijegom, a u Europi najviše temperature od kada se mjere.

Znanstvenici upozoravaju da je krajnje vrijeme da promijenimo način života, inače će temperature nastaviti rasti neviđenom brzinom što će uzrokovati potpunu promjenu klimatskog sustava našeg planeta.
